The miniaturization of semiconductor devices has improved the performance of machine tools and manufacturing equipment used to make products. This leads to the production of higher performance products, which in turn has contributed to industrial development around the world. Semiconductors are now used in a variety of places and have become indispensable to the world, and it is no exaggeration to say that semiconductors support society. In recent years, research has been conducted into improving the performance of semiconductor devices by using materials with better properties than the silicon (Si) currently in use around the world. In our laboratory, we are conducting research to realize high-speed, low-power, high-performance transis-tors by depositing a compound semiconductor called InSb (indium antimonide), which has better electrical properties than Si, on inexpensive and durable Si substrates.Biomedical Spectroscopy -Reading biological information using light-New semiconductor materials enable ultra-fast,low-power devices25μmLight interacting with matter carries information about its molecular structure and composition. By analyzing reflected, transmitted, and scattered light, spectroscopy can identify substances and measure their concentrations with high accuracy. Applying spectroscopy to medicine could enable noninvasive blood tests and early cancer detection. However, biological tissues strongly scatter light and contain many chemically similar components, making accurate measurements difficult. Our group devel-ops advanced optical measurement techniques, signal processing and machine learning methods, and fundamental spectroscopy technologies for future biomedical applications. Research Projects : Looking ahead to our future
