　小学校の設置に伴う教員の需要に応えるため、明治8年に富山市総曲輪に校舎を新築し、新川県師範学校と称した。以後何度か改称され、官立の富山師範学校に引き継がれた。 　In 1875, Niikawa Prefectural Normal School was established to train school teachers. The school was later transferred from prefectural to national status.　富山の売薬業界挙げての協力の下に共立富山薬学校（私立）が設立された。その後全国で初めての薬学専門学校として富山県立薬学専門学校が誕生し、その後、官立の富山薬学専門学校に引き継がれた。 　Kyoritsu Toyama Pharmaceutical School was established through the efforts of pharmaceutical companies and cooperatives in Toyama.
