　高等教育機関の充実を望む県民の要望に応え、富山市東岩瀬の馬場はる氏からの多額の寄附により旧制富山高等学校（県立）が誕生した。その後、官立の富山高等学校に引き継がれた。 　Toyama High School was established as a higher educational institution in Toyama to meet the needs of local citizens. Baba Haru, the widow oｆ a successful kitamae shipping merchant, made a generous donation which allowed the school to be founded.　当時商都として全国に聞こえていた高岡に、全国で13番目の官立高等商業学校が設立された。その後、昭和19年に工業技術者不足に対する国家的要請等により、高岡工業専門学校となった。 　The thirteenth Commercial High School was established in Takaoka City after it had become a famous commercial city.
