Signing Ceremony for Memorandum on Double Degree Program between Faculty of Economics, University of Toyama and Kainan University, Taiwan
On March 9, 2017, Faculty of Economics, University of Toyama(UT) concluded two faculty-level memorandums on Double Degree Program(DDP) with School of Commerce and School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kainan University(KU), Taiwan.
The signing ceremony was held at Gofuku Campus, UT. Prof. Kazuyuki Nakamura, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, UT, prof. Chiun-Sin Lin, Dean of the School of Commerce and prof. TIO Sunbun, Dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences, KU signed the memorandums.
This DDP is the first program at UT which provides undergraduate students with an opportunity to obtain two bachelor's degrees from both UT and KU over a period of four years. As for UT students in the DDP, they study for 2 years at UT after entering UT. Then they study abroad in Taiwan for 2 years at KU and return to UT. When they fulfill the degree requirements at both UT and KU, they can earn two bachelor's degrees from UT and from KU, and graduate from UT in March.
After the ceremony, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Executive Vice President Yasumaru Hatanaka. They discussed the student exchanges under the DDP.
