INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP PARTY 2025
On Thursday, October 30, the INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP PARTY 2025, hosted by the university president, was held. This event was aimed to bring together all university members to share their cultures, deepen mutual understanding, and expand their social networks.
More than 200 from over 30 countries attended, including President Saito, international and Japanese students, and faculty and staff working with international students.
The event began with the koto performance by the Japanese Music Club as an opening act, followed by an opening address and a toast by President Saito, officially marking the start of the event.
Next, international students from Pakistan, Russia, India, Serbia, and Cameroon introduced the customs, cultures, and songs of their respective countries. In addition, Japanese students gave a presentation titled “Recommended Spots in Toyama and at the University of Toyama,” which was delivered in both Japanese and English, greatly energizing the audience.
Alongside traditional Japanese dishes such as sushi, halal food was also served in consideration of cultural backgrounds, allowing everyone to enjoy the event comfortably. Many participants, including presenters, wore traditional clothing from their home countries, as well as Japanese kimono. Since the event was held on Halloween, many students came in costumes, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The event concluded with a group photo, wrapping up a very successful and festive gathering.
