Vice President Ikeda Visits Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University, Malaysia

On August 27, 2019, Vice President Ikeda and an international office staff of University of Toyama (UT) visited Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences (JCSMHS), Monash University Malaysia.

Monash University Malaysia is a prestigious university that was ranked in the top 100 in the world in Times Higher Education World University Rankings and is also one of the Australia’s leading Group of Eight Universities. Monash University Malaysia was established in 1998 as the first foreign branch campus in Bandar Sunway, Malaysia. The Graduate School of science and Engineering for Research, UT and JCSMHS which was established in 2005 concluded a faculty-level agreement in 2016.

During this visit, Vice President Ikeda made a courtesy call on Prof. Shajahan Yasin, Head of JCSMHS and Prof. Ishwar Parhar, Director of the Brain Research Institute Monash Sunway (BRIMS) at JCSMHS and they discussed further expansion of exchanges between the Faculty of Medicine, UT and JCSMHS, including possibility of oversea clinical training for the students of Faculty of Medicine, UT. They have agreed to continue further discussions toward developing a program of oversea clinical training and the program will be considered by JCSMHS. It is expected that the globalization of Education for our students will be further promoted.
