Delegation from Department of Thai Traditional & Alternative Medicine, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, Visits University of Toyama

On March 15 and 16, 2019, Dr. Supattra Rungsimakan and other 5 members from Department of Thai Traditional & Alternative Medicine, Ubon Ratchathani and other universities paid a courtesy visit to University of Toyama(UT).
This visit was aimed at learning about about R&D, evaluation, safety, quality, efficacy of Kampo medicine from Japanese pharmaceutical companies and institutions in the field of traditional medicine in Japan. The Institute of Natural Medicine (INM) was selected as the destination.

After Prof. Katsuko Komatsu, Director of INM, made a presentation, the delegation toured the Toyama University Hospital, laboratories, the Museum of Materia Medica and had a lively exchange of the views for research exchange and the possibility of collaboration.
After that, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Masayuki Ikeda, Executive Vice President. They discussed the achievements of joint research activities and the further collaboration between the institutions in Thailand and UT.
