Vice Rector of Hasanuddin University, Indonesia and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand visit University of Toyama

On October 3, Dr. Subehan Lallo, Vice Rector(former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy) of Hasanuddin University, Indonesia and Dr. Pornanong Aramwit, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand paid a courtesy visit to Executive Vice President Ikeda.

University of Toyama(UT) has more than 20 year of academic exchange with each university. In particular, the Institute of Natural Medicine(INM) has been actively engaged in exchanges with the Faculty of Pharmacy, Hasanuddin University and the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University as important international collaboration hubs.

Dr. Subehan Lallo and Dr. Pornanong Aramwit came to Japan to attend an international symposium held in Toyama, and INM invited them to UT after the occasion, which made this visit possible.

A brief overview of UT was outlined by Executive Vice President Ikeda, and then Dr. Hayakawa, Director of INM explained the status of exchange between UT and the two universities and the future prospects for both universities.

After the courtesy visit, the two representatives visited INM and discussed international collaborative joint research and fostering young researchers who can practice natural medicine discovery and healthcare research, with the aim of promoting personnel exchanges to strengthen collaboration on drug discovery research.

With this visit, further development of academic exchange between UT and the two universities can be expected.
