皆様、ご卒業おめでとうございます。本日、ここに、大学院修士・博士課程修了生が一同に集まり、学位記授与式を執り行うことができますことを、本当に嬉しく思います。また、御来賓の方々には、御多忙の中ご臨席を賜り、厚く御礼申し上げます。毎年、学位記授与式は、学部学生と大学院修了生が一同に集まっていますが、今年は富山市総合体育館が工事中ですので、大学院修了生のみの式典となりました事をお詫びいたします。
本日、４７名の留学生を含む、大学院修士課程修了生４４６名、専門職学位課程修了生１４名、博士課程修了生５６名、論文博士１１名、合計５２７名に学位記を授与致しました。海外からの留学生は、中国、ベトナム、パキスタン、ミャンマー、インド、エジプト、カメルーン、タイ、バングラデシュと９ヵ国から富山大学に学びに来られた学生です。富山大学が本当にグローバル化されている事を実感いたしました。５２７名の国内外の若者が、富山大学からそれぞれの道へ巣立つ、この良き日を迎えることができたこと、教職員一同並びに来賓の方々を代表して、心からお祝い申し上げます。おめでとうございます。
Since we have international students here today, I would like to give a short congratulatory message in English.
Good Morning everyone. It’ｓ a great pleasure to see you all today.
You have been awarded a degree by University of Toyama.
On behalf of the University, I extend my sincere congratulations.
Every year, this ceremony is held jointly for undergraduate and graduate students. However, as the Toyama City Gymnasium is currently under renovation, we regret that this year’s ceremony is limited to graduates Students. I kindly ask for your understanding. Today, we conferred degrees upon 446 Master’s program graduates, 14 professional degree program graduates, 56 doctoral program graduates, and 11 recipients of the doctoral degree by dissertation, for a total of 527 graduates, including 47 international students.
Our international students come from nine countries—China, Vietnam, Pakistan, Myanmar, India, Egypt, Cameroon, Thailand, and Bangladesh. Their presence has given me a strong sense of how truly global our university has become.
On this momentous day, as 527 young people from Japan and abroad set out on their respective paths from University of Toyama, I would like to offer my warmest congratulations on behalf of all the faculty and staff, as well as our honored guests.
近年、私たちを取り巻く社会は、技術革新の急速な進展、地球規模での気候変動、社会的価値観の大きな転換など、かつてないスピードで変化しています。生成AIをはじめとする情報技術の進歩は研究の在り方を刷新し、刻一刻と変化する国際情勢の流動化は多様な視点と協働（Cooperation）の重要性をさらに高めています。また、地域社会においても人口構造の変化や産業構造の再編が進み、学術の果たす役割はますます大きくなっています。
In recent years, the society that surrounds us has been changing at an rapid pace, driven by factors such as rapid technological innovation, global climate change, and profound shifts in social values.
Advances in information technologies, including generative AI, are transforming the very nature of academic research, while the increasing instability of the international landscape highlights more than ever the importance of diverse perspectives and cooperation.
At the same time, local communities are undergoing significant changes in demographic structures and industrial frameworks, further amplifying the vital role that academia is called upon to play.
こうした時代において必要とされるのは、知識を習得する力だけではありません。未知の課題に出会ったとき、自ら問いを立て、仲間と協働し、新たな価値を創造していく力です。このような学習は、学部教育では学べず、大学院では学部で学んだ知識を基に、課題解決する研究能力が求められます。皆さんは大学院での研究生活を通じ、まさにその研究能力を身につけられました。困難に直面しながらも粘り強く探求し、仮説を立て、検証を重ねる日々は、今後どのような場に立たれたとしても、必ずや大きな支えとなるでしょう。
Learning cannot be fully achieved at the undergraduate level; in graduate education, students are expected to develop the ability to conduct research and solve problems by building upon the foundational knowledge acquired during their undergraduate studies.
Through your research life in graduate school, each of you has indeed cultivated these very research capabilities.
The days you spent overcoming challenges, forming ideas, and testing them again and again will surely become a strong foundation for you, whatever path or role you choose in the future.
世界は今、国境を越えて協力し合わなければ解決が難しい課題に満ちています。環境問題、経済の格差、紛争の解決、健康と医療、持続可能な社会づくり、文化・教育の発展など、皆さんの専門性が求められる場は数多くあります。皆さんが富山大学で培われた知的探求心と倫理観、そして他者を尊重する姿勢や海外留学生との交流は、どの国や地域においても信頼を生み、社会に貢献する力となるはずです。また、その交流が、無意味な紛争を防ぐことに繋がると信じています。
There are so many global challenges today, and we cannot deal with them effectively unless nations cooperate beyond their borders. Environmental issues, economic disparities, the resolution of conflicts, health and medical care, the creation of sustainable societies, and the advancement of culture and education—there are countless fields in which your specialized knowledge and expertise are needed. The spirit of deep thinking, the strong sense of ethics, the respect for others, and the experiences gained through interaction with international students that you have cultivated at University of Toyama will foster trust and enable you to contribute meaningfully to society, regardless of the country or region in which you find yourselves. Moreover, I firmly believe that such exchanges play an important role in preventing meaningless conflicts and in building a more peaceful world.
本日は、海外からの留学生も学位記授与式に参加しています。国際留学生は学業で優れた成績を収めただけでなく、富山大学に多様な文化を紹介してくれました。母国を離れ、この富山で、日本文化や日本語に適応したり、多くの困難に立ち向かい、これらを解決して、本日、富山大学を卒業することになりました。皆さんのこれまでの努力に敬意を表するとともに、今後は世界の様々な国で富山大学卒業生として活躍されることを祈念しています。
Today, international students from abroad are also participating in graduation ceremony. International students not only excelled academically, but also brought diverse cultures to the University of Toyama. I would like to express my deep appreciation for all your hard work thus far, and I wish you every success as graduates of University of Toyama as you go on to make your mark in countries around the world.
さて、最後に富山大学と卒業生の皆さんとの今後のつながりにつき、お願いがあります。富山大学は、これからも富山県での地域活性化の中核として、地域から頼られる国立大学として地方創生に貢献していきたいと思っています。また、それらの成果を世界に発信し、世界中の人々のwell-beingに貢献したいと考えています。富山大学は、国内外の研究機関並びに卒業生の皆様と連携しながら次々に多くの研究成果を学術誌ならびにWebや種々のメディアを通して発信していくつもりです。産学官金民の連携に加えて卒業生との連携をさらに強化し、新たなイノベーションを起こし、富山県を元気にしたいと考えています。留学生の皆さんは、グローバルコミュニティ大使として富山大学と、関係性を持ち続けていただきたいと切望しています。そのために、修了者の皆さんと卒業後も富山大学との持続的な繋がりを持ち、さらにその繋がりを深められるよう、本年4月から“富山大学アルムナイプラットフォーム”の運用を開始します。ご登録いただけますと、コミュニティ参加や同窓生検索、イベント交流を通じて、ご卒業後も大学と気軽につながることができます。どうかこのプラットフォームを活用し、富山大学で育まれた絆をこれからも広げていってください。留学生の皆さんは、帰国して新しい職に就かれた際、是非とも連絡して下さい。このようにして、富山大学は皆さんと関係を持ち続けたいと願っています。
Finally, I would like to make a request regarding future connections between the University of Toyama and graduates. University of Toyama will continue to contribute to regional development as the core of regional top leader in Toyama. I sincerely hope that all international students will continue to have a relationship with University of Toyama as ambassadors of the global community. To that end, we will start the “University of Toyama Alumni Platform” this April to help graduates maintain and further strengthen their ties with the University of Toyama even after graduation. By registering, you can easily stay connected with the university through community participation, alumni searches, and event networking. Please make the most of this platform and continue to strengthen the bonds formed at University of Toyama. We encourage all international students to please get in touch with us once you return home and start a new job. In this way, University of Toyama hopes to maintain our connection with you.
皆さんにとって誇れる母校として在り続けられるよう、教職員ともに尽力していくつもりですので、これからは同窓生として富山大学を長きに渡りご支援ならびに応援していただきたいと、願っております。

Graduating from graduate school marks a new beginning in your lives. To help you live “a more enjoyable life, omoshiroi life in Japanese” please take the initiative and make your mark in society after graduation. I sincerely hope that your future will be bright and promising.
