To all international students who came to study at the University of Toyama from overseas, congratulations on your graduation.
When you first arrived in Toyama, adapting to a new language and different customs and ways of life was surely not easy. However, with the support of your academic advisors, senior students, classmates, and friends, you have successfully completed your studies and reached this special day.
You faced many challenges during your time here. Yet, you overcame them one by one, earned the required credits, and are now receiving your degrees.
I am confident that the knowledge and expertise you have gained are valuable achievements. Just as important, you have learned to understand different perspectives and cultures, and to work together with people from diverse backgrounds. These abilities will be among your greatest assets in the future.
I am sure that your parents and families are very proud of you today.
Knowledge is advancing every day, and society is constantly changing. Even after graduating from the University of Toyama and beginning your professional careers, I encourage you to continue learning, improving your skills, and deepening your knowledge in your chosen fields.
There is a phrase, “lifelong learning.” We, the faculty and staff of the University of Toyama, hope that you will always keep learning and use what you learn to grow further as individuals throughout your lives.
I also encourage you to value the friendships you have built during your student years and the connections you have made in the local community. Even after you leave the university, please continue to stay connected with the University of Toyama and Toyama Prefecture.
True independence does not mean facing every challenge alone. It means working together with others, supporting one another, and solving problems as a team. Therefore, I hope that you will continue to help each other and work with your fellow graduates from the University of Toyama to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
Some of you will return to your home countries, while others will remain in Japan and begin your professional careers. Whichever path you choose, I hope you will make full use of what you have learned at the University of Toyama and achieve great success in your future endeavors.
I also encourage you to stay in close contact with your friends and professors at the University of Toyama by making good use of online communication tools, “University of Toyama Alumni Platform”. The University of Toyama sincerely hopes to maintain a lifelong relationship with all of you.

With my sincere wishes for the success and happiness of all graduates, both Japanese and international, I conclude my address today.
